2014 Gymnastics Results

Victorian Championships

YMCA Geelong Gymnasts excel at Victorian Championships held at the State Netball Hockey Centre in Melbourne. YMCA Geelong had over 22 gymnasts qualify and compete at the Victorian Championships over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend 6-9 June 2014.

Gymnasts competed in the men’s gymnastics, women’s gymnastics and trampolining gymsports.

YMCA Geelong received outstanding results with our participant received the following awards:


Level 2 Men:
DArtagnan Reed Broekman - Gold Tramp and Silver on Double Mini Tramp
Jason Langeder - Gold on Tramp
Sam Van Uijtert - Gold on Double Mini Tramp

Level 3 Women:
Neesha Burmeister - Gold on Double Mini tramp

Australia National Gymnastics Championships 2014
Jessica MacDonald finished in 6th place on Vault in Australia for level 8, and is currently ranked 28th in Australia overall.
On day one of competition Jessica was placed 2nd of Vault with 13.5 and the level 8 team was 4th in Australia in which she was a team member of.
Well done Jessica and Rachel Crawford who coaches for YMCA Geelong and an Assistant Coach in the State Squad.

Mens Gymnastics (MG) is the boys competitive program. Gymnasts have the option of training 3 or 6 hours per week and learn skills and routines in preparation for competitions. This program is for intermediate to advanced gymnasts and entry is via assessment.

Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Australian Levels Programs

Womens Gymnastics (WG) is the girls competitive program. Gymnasts generally enter the program via the Development Squad and then progress through the levels at either State or National Streams. Entry to the competitive program is via assessment as the training schedule can be quite demanding.

Gymnastics Australia has reviewed the WAG program and released a new framework for athlete development in the sport of women’s gymnastics.

YMCA Geelong WAG Program will be transitioning from our current program to these new levels as of 1st January 2015.

All Abilities Gymnastics

Located at YMCA North Geelong (Arena Complex)

The YMCA All Abilities program is designed for children and adults of all abilities. The aim of the program is to develop life skills including confidence, self esteem, body awareness, movement foundations, along with strength and flexibility.

All the participants have the opportunity to learn and progress at their own ability and time taking into account their activity level and concentration span. Gymnastics is a great foundation for all other sports along side personal confidence and life skills.

We have a very dedicated and experience team of coach that work in our all abilities program with many years of experience working with children and young adults with disabilities.
