Gym Safe

ymca gymnastics gym safeThe YMCA Gymsafe program is designed for children aged 6-14 years. The ten level program involves all apparatus and gymnastics disciplines. The aims of the program are to develop life skills including; confidence, self esteem, discipline, body awareness, strength and flexibility and movement foundations from which the basis of all other sports are formed.

The program is taught in a non-competitive format so each participant has the opportunity to learn and progress at their own pace. The skills learnt during Gymsafe classes provide a sound foundation in gymnastics which allow the child to progress onto higher gymnastics levels or to use the skills they have acquired in other sports.

All Gymsafe and Intro Gym gymnasts are invited to attend the Club Championships in December. This is a fun event where gymnasts show family and friends what they have learned via a recreational competition format. All participating gymnasts receive a medal and certificate.
